Five Fall TV Shows I Can’t Wait to Binge Watch

For some reason, I don’t watch that much TV in the warmer seasons, but I love to spend a day off in the fall/winter getting lost in a new show. There’s nothing better than curling up on the couch in your comfiest clothes, with some snacks and your favorite fall-scented candle burning in the background. There are quite a few new shows premiering this fall that I’m really looking forward to. In the next few months if I’m not at home reading, you can bet I’ll probably be binging one of these new shows!

CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA
(Netflix – October 26)

Ever since I first read the rumor of a Sabrina reboot, I have been not-so-patiently waiting for this show. I’m so excited for Netflix’s darker adaptation of the comic and the fact that it release right around Halloween is perfect. The trailer is totally spooky and does an excellent job of giving the viewers a preview to the creep-level to expect in the upcoming episodes. October cannot come fast enough. (In the meantime, you can stream all the episodes of Sabrina the Teenage Witch from Amazon Prime to your ’90s heart content.)

YOU
(Lifetime – Sundays @ 9pm CST)

I actually just found out You was going to be adapted into a TV series not too long ago. The book has been sitting on my TBR for a while and I’ve seen so many good reviews for it. Once I saw that bone-chilling trailer, I knew I had to read the book immediately so I could binge-watch the episodes. Also, how perfect is Penn Badgley as Joe?

SHARP OBJECTS
(HBO)

First Big, Little Lies and now Sharp Objects: I really hope HBO continues with this trend of adapting books into tv shows. It’s been a while since I read Sharp Objects, so I don’t really remember much of the plot, but I’m a little excited to be going into the show with a blank slate and without any expectations. And if HBO needs any help with future book-to-tv adaptations, I’m more than willing to offer a few suggestions…

THE MINIATURIST
(PBS Masterpiece – Sundays @ 8pm CST)

Yet another book that has been adapted into a tv show, although this is one that I haven’t read before, and prior to seeing promos for the show had never heard of. The trailer paints the show as a compelling period drama with a hint of secrets and an eerie mystery.

MANIFEST
(NBC – Mondays @ 9pm CST)

The premise of this show seems really interesting! The best descriptions I’ve seen are that it’s Lost meets the mysterious tragedy of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. The first trailer piqued my interest and I’m curious to see how the show is going to play out.

Are you planning to watch any of these shows? What are you most excited to binge watch this fall? Let me know!

  1. I love your list of shows!

I read You over the summer in anticipation of the Lifetime series. Definitely the best thriller I’ve ever read. So far it’s a pretty perfect book to tv transition. And yes, Penn Badgley is so perfect playing Joe. I’m reading the sequel now.

I read Sharp Objects before watching the series. I liked the series, I did think the book handled by ending a bit better.

I was so annoyed I forgot to DVR The Miniaturist on PBS. I heard really good things about this show.

I watched Manifest last night. So good!
