Book Traveling Thursdays is a weekly meme hosted by Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog and Cátia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much. Each week, you pick a book related to the theme and choose different editions of the cover: the original cover, the cover from your country (if different from the original), your favorite cover, and your least favorite cover. To see more information and a list of themes check out the Goodreads page!
Never judge a book by it’s cover! This week’s topic asks us to pick a book that may be ugly on the outside, but beautiful on the inside. It was a no-brainer for me. I absolutely love Alison Goodman’s Lady Helen series. It’s like Regency romance meets paranormal fantasy and it’s awesome. It even features a romance that is all slow burn and built-up tension, which I’m a huge sucker for. Unfortunately, the covers for those books are terrible. They are truly awful. Since the Australian editions seem to be the least hideous (at least in a language I speak), I had to have them shipped overseas just so I could have them for my bookshelf!
I love the original cover. The new Dark Days for the U.K. and US are awful and I wish they would have stuck with the original imo. I like the Dark look to it.

I was never a big fan of the original, but now compared to the newer editions I wish they would have stuck with it!

I’m never a fan of book covers with photos of actual people and places on them. I like the combo of typography and cool illustrations so definitely a fan of both the original and the french versions.

I totally agree, I don’t usually like covers that have people on them either. Love the french version, but unfortunately it would do me no good other than it looked good on my shelf!
